Community of Heirs
A community of heirs arises automatically when several people inherit together. The estate belongs to the co-heirs jointly until it is divided.
Individual co-heirs generally cannot dispose of estate assets alone. Decisions about real estate, accounts, sales or distributions usually require coordination. This is why communities of heirs can become blocked quickly.
The usual goal is division of the estate. Estate values, liabilities, use of assets and equalisation claims must be recorded in a structured way. Clear documentation makes settlements easier and reduces escalation risks.
